1. Introduction
1.1 These Terms & Conditions (‘Terms’) govern the use of our website [ilovepear.com] (‘Website’) and matching service (as described further below).
1.2 The Website and Service are provided by Pair with Pear Limited (‘We’ or ‘Us’). We are registered in England and Wales under company number 16243852.
1.3 By using our Website and accessing the Service, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Website or the Service. We recommend that you print a copy of these Terms for future reference.
1.4 We may amend these Terms from time to time. Every time you wish to use our Website and the Service, please check these Terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time. These terms were most recently updated on [01.05.2025].
1.5 We may update and change our Website from time to time to reflect changes to our Service, our Clients' needs and our business priorities.
1.6 We do not guarantee that our Website, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our Website for business and operational reasons. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal. You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our Website through your internet connection are aware of these Terms, and that they comply with them.
1.7 We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. We will always tell you in writing if this happens and we will ensure that the transfer will not affect your rights under the contract.
2. Services Provided
2.1 We connect clients with psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors (collectively referred to as ‘Therapists’) by providing a matching service (‘Service’). If you use our Service, you will be a ‘Client’ under these Terms.
2.2 We use the personal data and preferences that you provide to pair you with a Therapist that we believe will suit your needs. More information about how we use your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
2.3 We do not provide therapy services directly. We provide the infrastructure to facilitate the match between you and the Therapist. We also do not provide any medical advice.
2.4 You will contract directly with the Therapist that you work with after you have been matched by us through the Service. Their terms and fees are decided by them and agreed with you separately, and it will be these terms that regulate your work together.
2.5 The use of the Website and the Service is free of charge for Clients.
2.6 This Service is only accessible for Clients and Therapists based in the United Kingdom.
2.7 This Service is only available for Clients over the age of 18.
3. Client Responsibilities
3.1 It is the Client’s responsibility to provide accurate information to Us when using the Service. Depending on the information that you share with Us via the Website, some of it may be categorised as sensitive data or special category data. You can read more about how we manage your personal data in our Privacy Policy.
3.2 You must keep your account details safe. If you choose, or you are provided with, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party. We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms. If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us at tallie@ilovepear.co.uk.
3.3. The Service is not an emergency service. This Service is solely for the use of people with mild/moderate mental health concerns. If you feel that you are a risk to yourself or others, please call your GP and ask for an emergency appointment or go to your local A&E. You can also reach out to a crisis line like Samaritans on 116 123.
3.4 You are responsible for not using the Website or Service in any way that could be deemed as illegal or would cause harm to others. We have the right to suspend you from the Service and report this information to the Police if we believe the Website or Service is not being used correctly.
4. Therapist Responsibilities
4.1 The Therapist is responsible for providing Us with their up-to-date qualification certificates and insurance renewals.
4.2 The Therapist agrees to comply with all applicable UK laws, including UK data protection laws, when working with Us and Clients.
4.3 The Therapist is responsible for communicating with the Client in a timely manner to ensure they feel supported throughout both the matching and the therapeutic process.
5. Liability
5.1 We are not responsible for the outcome of therapy sessions or interactions between Clients and Therapists.
5.2 There may be times when the Website is not available due to technical disruptions. We will work to rectify these as soon as possible. If you are having trouble accessing the Website, please get in touch as soon as possible using the contact details below.
5.3 Where our Website contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or information you may obtain from them. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources.
5.4 We do not guarantee that our Website will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programs and platform to access our Website. You should use your own virus protection software.
5.5 You must not misuse the Website by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the Website. You must not attack the Website via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the Website will cease immediately.

7.1 All payments will be managed by the Therapist that you work with and will be made through them. Refund policies are subject to individual Therapist agreements.

9. Intellectual Property
9.1 We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our Service and Website, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
9.2 You may use the content on our Website for your own personal information for non-commercial purposes and you may reproduce content in hard copy only to that extent. All other use is prohibited unless you obtain a licence from us or our licensors. In particular, you must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text. Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our Website must always be acknowledged.
9.3 If you print off, copy or download any part of our Website in breach of these Terms, your right to use our Website will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.
10. Termination of Account
10.1 We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10.2 If you wish to have your account deleted at any point please email us using the contact details below and this will be actioned within 72 hours.
11. Governing Law
11.1 These terms of use, their subject matter and their formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. You and Pair with Pear Ltd both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
